Emini Futures Trading / Forecasts Crumble Markets Tumble

E-Mini S&P 500: Earnings forecasts crumble and the market tumbles?

The E-Mini S&P 500 had an outside day mostly triggered by indecision and low volume.  Marriott International shares fell 6.3% and Halliburton Co. slipped 1.9%.  Declining stock on the NYSE outnumbered the advancing stocks.  On the Nasdaq for every 2 advancing stock, 3 declined.  The slide in the E-Mini S&P 500 occurred mostly between 2:35 – 3:10 PM CST.  AT&T rose 1.8% and Eastman Kodak was up 5.3%.  EBay Inc. was looking for an acquisition in GSI Commerce.  The fallout from the earthquake and tsunami still ravage the marketplace.  Radiation has been detected beyond the shores of Japan.  In Libya the tide seems to be turning in favor of the rebels; hence the lower Crude Oil prices today.  Silver and Gold prices have backed off of their highs today!  Food prices also came down from their recent highs in expectation of their prospective plantings report on Thursday!

Today’s US Personal Income was up + .3% for February.  US Pending Home Sales Index was up 2.1%.  This was established by the contracts signed in February.

Tuesday, We look to US Consumer Confidence due out at 9:00 AM CST.

Tuesday, what to expect!  We are technically still in buy mode but today was an outside day!  Typically, an outside day with a close of $1302.25 and the low of $1302.00 could potentially mean the end of a trend.  We look for a potentially lower day tomorrow!  Today’s range was $1315.25 - $1302.00.  The market settled at $1302.25.     Our comfort zone or point of control for this market appears to be $1309.00.  Our anticipated potential range for tomorrow’s trading may be $1309.00 -  $1288.00.

Please note that timing is everything and while we may divulge a brief overview of what may affect tomorrow’s market, trade set-ups are strategically planned according to time and price action.  In this marketplace, a trader needs to arm themselves with the weaponry to deploy into a complicated marketplace.  The CFRN Live Trading Room is your boot camp for your commodity future.
