How important is what we think as Emini Traders? It's equally as important as what we trade and how we trade it. In fact, what we think will affect both the "what" and the "how" of every trade we take.

As a man thinketh.. so he is. In the beginning God spoke the world into existence. Although it isn't written, I'm going to venture that He thought, before He spoke. No doubt many of us could benefit from such a practice.. thinking before speaking.

Before the trade:

    - Past experiences, beliefs, habits, patterns 

    - A persons history  

              - Thoughts:
  • Can I do this?
  • Will I be right?
  • Will I lose?
  • I have to win.
  •  I'm afraid to lose my money.

 What thoughts do you have before entering a trade?

Entry of trade:
    - Will this work?
    -  Will the market take my money?
    - Will my strategy work?
    -  Did I rush in?
    - How can I fix this?
    - Am I making money?
    - It's going in my direction?
    - Is this working?
    - Am I wrong?
    - I better  take this profit.

 

What thoughts do you have while in a trade?
 
Exiting the trade:
    - I got out too soon.
    - I should have stayed in.
    - I was right.
    - I was off.
    - I did well.
    - That felt good.
    - Lets do that again.
    - I am glad I exited when I did.

What are you thinking after you close a trade?
 
Be mindful of what you are thinking.
