Best Emini Trading System

The Best Emini Trading System For Every Market

The Best? That's a tall claim right? We trade the #S&P, #Russell, #Gold, #Copper, #Euro, #Yen, and much more.

If I'm going to say it, we have to be willing to back it up because we appear live each and every trading day, right here on CFRN from 12-2PM EST. Obviously I've thought it through before making such a grandiose claim... or have I?

Turns out, I have. Of course it will always come down to YOUR definition of BEST.

A Day In The Life Of The Best Emini Trading System Ever

Definition of Best -

Best /best/

  1. 1.
that which is the most excellent, outstanding, or desirable.

Definition of Trading System

Trading System /trading system/

  1. 1.
a trading system is a set of rules that generate buy and sell signals with no ambiguity or reliance on subjective techniques. These signals, generated by technical indicators are designed to allow even the novice trader an opportunity to shave years off the learning curve. A good trading system will pinpoint high probability trade setups while at the same time, encourage the trader to aggressively manage his risk.

Definition of Emini

Emini /e-mini/

  1. 1.
Emini futures contracts, known as eminis, are simply scaled down versions of the larger "full size" contracts they emulate. Emini futures contracts are relatively new to the trading scene having only been around since 1997. The difference between trading an emini vs. individual equities, is what you control with your investment or trading dollars.

Creating The Best Emini Trading System

With a clear understanding of what we are building, our goal now is to make sure it creates a definable edge in the market. The best e-mini trading system will be both easy to understand and simple to implement. The fewer moving parts the better.

We also believe the best system will be goal centric. Part of the elegance and sophistication of a superior system will rely on a trader being able to clearly define goals, measure success and repeat the process on a consistent basis. Consistency is quite possibly the most common missing element in many e-mini trading systems.

Trading The Best Emini Trading System

The most powerful tools in the wrong hands, can quickly become weapons of mass financial destruction. The perfect scenario will be you the trader spending time with the creator of the system. If the system has a proven track record of consistent results, the final touch would be a series of mentoring sessions with the creator. He will understand both the complexity and subtleties of the system.

You could spend months learning the limits, identifying both the strengths and weaknesses. However, in short order, the one who wrote the code can put you on a fast track to maximizing the performance. He can also make sure you don't waste time with blind alleys and rabbit holes that will never bear good fruit due to the very nature of the system.

Choosing The Best Emini System

Choosing the best emini trading system can be relatively simple if the developer is willing to cooperate. You're going to need some time to put it through its paces. You need to be able to, at the very least, trade the system using live market data. If there are any shortcomings, holes in the theory, or lack of fluidity in the mechanics, you must know now, before you put real money into play.

Often the developer of an emini trading system is so close to the system, he honestly doesn't realize there are in fact subjective techniques in play. If this is the case, you must continue to shop, or be willing to put in the time to "learn the curve" itself. This could take months or even years based on the simplicity or complexity of the trading system you've chosen.

Discuss The Risk Required To Trade The System

When the developer built the system you are considering purchasing, he had some idea in mind as to how much capital or "number of points" he was willing to risk on the average trade. If he is a swing trader at heart the shiny little system you're itching to buy might rely on 20 point draw downs regularly, to produce the advertised profit potential. If you're opening a $5k account, this won't work.

Market Flexibility

Can you only trade one market? Some systems are designed to trade only Crude, others Soybeans, and yet others only the SP500. Do you know which market you will trade? Do you plan to purchase a system for each market? Are there certain hours of the day when this system performs best? If so, make sure you will be available during those hours to place your trades.

Request A Free Consultation

Finally, ask for some time to sit down and discuss your needs as a trader. Will this be a career? Part time job? Are there any other major life issues in the wind right now? If so, how will this impact your ability to trade? If you need support down the road will it be available?

During this consultation you will probably discuss price if you haven't already. Just a basic education, no system or indicators, currently runs between $5-$6k. A complete system where you just slide into the drivers seat can run $7,500 to $25,000. Be very careful here. The price of the system has nothing to do with the quality of the system. Makes sense the $25,000 model would just naturally be better right? As with many counter-intuitive things in trading... the one is not true.

The developer will attach a price he either feels his time is worth, or that you will pay. Either way, that's his valuation. You need to establish your own valuation of the primary tool in your new Emini Trading business. This is the heartbeat, the crux of the apostrophe.. and then some.

The only way to firmly establish the value of a system is to trade it. Unfortunately, most developers don't want to risk losing intellectual property. It's  a tough situation, both arguments are valid. Hold out for the developer who will take the risk. Why? Well obviously you want to trade the system, but you also just learned something very valuable about the developer. He's comfortable with the risk. Chances are, he manages risk for a living. He knows that if you're serious, you'll see the value.
