SP500 / Dow Emini Futures Trade Zone To Zone 03/05/12

The S&P500 and Dow Emini Futures traded lower today amid ongoing Euro worries and fresh concerns about China's lowered growth target. The opening hour gave us a 7 point range on the ES and and a 100 point range on the YM. Both markets managed to claw their way back to finish on par with Friday's close.

As you will see below on tonight's Emini Charts, the imporatnce of good support and resistance numbers cannot be underestimated or overstated. Whether it's fixed (WTZ) or dynamic, knowing where the market is attempting to go adds a tremendous level of clarity and helps a trader put things in the proper perspective. The markets don't always turn on a dime the way they did today, but when they do, we want to be quick to recognize it and trade accordingly to maximize the potential.

Emini Weekly Trading Zones

We currently publish Trading Zones for the S&P 500 Emini Futures, Dow Futures, Euro Futures, British Pound and the Russell. In general, these are "areas" where we expect the market to consolidate and make a decision. The outcome is always rejection or acceptance. Either way, price then begins its journey to the next Zone. Today's activity might look unusual but if you reference our historical charts, the real exception to the rule is "when price does not move zone to zone".
